Sportsmed reCOVER resulted from the clinical need to offer patients with sports injuries and those in post-operative care an effective treatment concept.

A customised, comprehensive treatment plan with the aim of bringing about an efficient and lasting return to sport and everyday activities.

Thanks to the targeted combination of Western and Chinese medicine, the recovery process is guided in a positive direction.

Game Changing

Every member of our team strives to be a "game changer".

"Return to sport"
thanks to reCOVER

You will benefit from our integrative perspective on combining different medical systems with interdisciplinary cooperation. We work with specialists from all areas of sports medicine and only use state-of-the-art equipment.

As sports medicine doctors, we specialise in the musculoskeletal system. Our sport-specific understanding helps us to ask targeted questions and conduct precise clinical examinations. For further diagnostics, we have access to high-quality radiology equipment which provides us with X-rays, sonographies, CT scans and MRIs. Subsequently, we then discuss the best treatment options with you.

We recommend non-operative treatment if at all possible. If an operation is indicated, we use minimally invasive methods which meet the latest international standards.

The reCOVER team combines modern treatment methods with centuries-old concepts from Chinese medicine. In anatomically-based Sports Acupuncture, the needle serves as a “softener” of hardened tissue. Electrostimulation of the acupuncture needle reinforces these effects. With Soft Tissue Management, the tissue is loosened further through manual fascia techniques and tension imbalance in the musculoskeletal system is corrected. This stimulates blood flow, in order to aid anti-inflammatory mechanisms.

Chinese Herbal Therapy can also help you where sport is concerned. External herbal applications boost circulation and help to reduce localised swelling and alleviate pain. We use these to treat ailments such as sprains, strains and post-operative swelling. Taking oral herbal remedies helps to alleviate the symptoms of excessive training and to correct physical and mental imbalances whilst also boosting your energy levels.

Consistent athletic training helps to prevent injuries in the long term, which is why our sports physiotherapists are also trained Medical Athletic Coaches (MACs). Movements and strains, such as those which are associated with football, tennis, golf or everyday activities, vary considerably. That is why the MACs devise your customised reCOVER programme based on sport-specific and function-specific athletic training. This focuses on coordinating muscles, gradually increasing muscle strength, exploiting strength-speed and explosive strength and ultimately regaining the ability to react quickly.

We also support muscle building through the use of modern electrostimulation. Treatment is continually adjusted to suit the current wound healing phase and the individual healing process.

In addition to their expertise in athletic training, our MACs have also mastered skilful manual techniques for loosening joint blockages, capsular hardening and tissue adhesion.

Highly effective
reCOVER programme

The reCOVER programme is suitable for athletes of all abilities who aim to return to sport, as well as for people who want to be able to perform their everyday activities again following an injury. We will put together a customised reCOVER programme based on your needs, employing an effective and sustainable approach.
